A first! Even at my age… broke out in spontaneous applause when the US scored a goal in its win-all-or-go-home match this morning. I still don’t even know the rules of soccer (I did figure out the ball needs to go in the net…) but it was clear the team was at the absolute edge when the shot went in. (Now, if they could just do it a little more often, I might become a soccer fan…)
